Professor Mary Favret Awarded Keats-Shelley Distinguished Scholar

The Department of English is proud to announce that Professor Mary Favret was presented the Keats-Shelley Distinguished Scholar Award at this year’s Modern Language Association conference in Seattle, in recognition of her “career-long excellence in scholarship” of the Romantic period. Previous recipients include Frances Ferguson, Jerome McGann, Helen Vendler, Marjorie Levenson, M.H. Abrams, and Walter Jackson Bate. Professor Julie Carlson (UC Santa-Barbara), gave the encomium, which will be published in the Keats-Shelley Journal. Please join us in congratulating Professor Favret on this much deserved honor.
