The Community College of Baltimore County has named Jarvis Young as one of their speakers for their ongoing Humanities For All Lecture Series. Each semester, the Mellon Scholars Lectures Series holds specifically designated topical lectures. The visiting Johns Hopkins University faculty member or scholar will give a 45-minute talk with questions to broaden perspective and understanding of what it means to be a Humanities scholar. Mr. Young’s topic, “The Black Polemical Essay: Refining the Afro-American Literary Tradition,” will be discussed during a virtual event on Thursday, March 4th, from 6:00-7:30pm est.
