The Department is thrilled to announce that Professor Mark Christian Thompson has been named a Krieger-Eisenhower Professor. This major honor recognizes, among other achievements, his exceptional record of scholarship, which includes the deeply original and powerful studies Phenomenal Blackness (forthcoming), The Critique of Nonviolence (forthcoming), Anti-Music, Kafka’s Blues​, and Black Fascisms. It recognizes too the industry and aplomb he has brought to his departmental service, including three remarkable years as Chair of English.
