The updated rankings for graduate programs in the US from US News & World Report dropped this week and the Johns Hopkins Department of English sees its ranking jump from #13 (tied) to #8 (tied).

By field, the program ranks…

• #3 in “Literary criticism and theory”
• #10 (tied) in “18th through 20th century British literature”
• #17 in “American literature after 1865”
